And yes, it is happening!

ferryTicket

It’s now official, I just bought a single ferry ticket to France!

On Tuesday 18th of August, I’ll be taking the train to Bournemouth, where I will spend the night at my friend’s Mauricio. Next day early in the morning, I’ll be catching the Ferry from Poole to Cherbourg.

Luckily I managed to recover fast from the mild fever I had last week. I started my training again, I bought a tent, my first map, made my plans. I now have to do some final arrangements, say good buy to friends here in London and then I am off… A week from now I’ll be somewhere in France making my way to the south.

Happy days!

The not so good news

I was in Berlin for the past 10 days where I had an excellent time in many aspects. But guess what? I came back with a mild fever! It hasn’t gone above 38, but it’s enough to keep me away from cycling and training for the big ride. And of course my biggest worry is that it may evolve to something more serious, which may postpone my  depart.

With just two weeks to go and loads of things to arange, this is definitely not good thing to happen. Along with many other things, I was planning to go for a day ride in Kent this week to try out some of the new gear, but now I don’t see it happening.
